- The website generates standard server access logs for security and operation.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the FocusLapse iPhone application (the “App”) and official website provided by cocon合同会社 (“we,” “us,” or the “Company”). cocon合同会社 is the controller of information covered by this Policy.
2. Information handled on your device
The App handles the following information on your device to provide its features:
- Camera footage: used to create time-lapse videos.
- Focus records: start and end times, duration, rating, and notes.
- Created videos: time-lapse and digest video files.
This information is used only to display and total your records, create videos, and let you review completed sessions.
3. Camera and Photos access
The App requests camera access for recording. When you choose to export a video, it may use permission to save to Photos. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Features that require a permission will not work if that permission is denied.
4. User content and App communications
The App does not require an account and does not transmit your recorded videos, focus records, ratings, or notes to our servers or to third-party servers. As of the date of this Policy, the App contains no advertising SDK, behavioral-tracking SDK, or third-party analytics SDK.
The App may connect to a public page provided by Notion Labs, Inc. to retrieve announcements from us for display in Settings. Recorded videos, focus records, ratings, and notes are not included in this request. The destination service may nevertheless process ordinary connection information such as your IP address, access time, and device or network information.
Information handled independently by Apple while providing the App Store or device services is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
5. Website access logs
Our hosting service may create standard access logs containing an IP address, access time, requested URL and query, response status, referrer, browser and device information, and data-transfer volume.
We use access logs to protect the website, investigate failures, maintain reliable operation, and produce basic aggregated traffic counts. The website is hosted using services provided by XServer Inc. Unless we need to preserve a log for security or legal reasons, logs are handled according to the hosting service’s standard retention and availability periods.
6. Information you send to Support
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, and any device, operating-system, or issue details you choose to include. We use this information to reply, confirm the request, investigate the problem, prevent recurrence, and improve the service. We do not retain it longer than reasonably necessary for support, security, or legal compliance.
If you choose the optional survey or issue-report link in the App, you will be taken to Google Forms, provided by Google LLC. Google’s privacy policy also applies to information you submit through the form. Please do not send your name, videos, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary to investigate the issue.
7. Cookies and analytics
As of the date of this Policy, the official website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not use Google Analytics or a similar analytics service. Before introducing such a service, we will update this Policy with its purpose, recipient, cookie use, retention period, and user choices, and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
8. Service providers, disclosures, and external links
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose information we receive to third parties without consent except where required by law. We may use a hosting provider to process limited website information on our behalf as necessary to operate the website.
The App and website may use services provided by Apple, Notion, Google, and others to provide features or open pages you select. Once a communication is made to, or you follow a link to, an external service, that service’s own terms and privacy policy apply.
9. Retention, deletion, and your choices
- Delete App records and videos using the App’s deletion controls or by deleting the App.
- Videos exported to Photos remain there after the App is deleted and must be deleted separately in Photos.
- Revoke Camera or Photos access at any time in iOS Settings.
- To request deletion of information sent to Support, contact us below. We will respond within a reasonable scope unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.
Because App data is not uploaded to our servers, we cannot remotely view, recover, or delete the videos and records stored on your device.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the size of the service and the nature of the information to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, or damage.
11. Rights of users outside Japan
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. Contact us below to exercise an applicable right. We may verify your identity before responding. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live or work.
Because App videos and records remain only on your device, we normally cannot identify or retrieve that data.
12. Children’s privacy
The App does not require an account and does not intentionally collect children’s personal information on our servers. Minors should use recording and sharing features with a parent or guardian’s guidance and should respect the privacy of people nearby and the rules of their school or other location.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide notice on the website, in the App, or through another appropriate method.
